The Jewish Community Center of Greater Albuquerque presents the fourth annual 2017 ABQ Jewish Film Fest. This year’s line-up will showcase five acclaimed, recently-released films from the U.S, Israel, and Italy. The films taken as a whole portray a rich and varied tapestry of contemporary Jewish life.
Filmgoers can travel to a Jerusalem Orthodox synagogue, Jazz night clubs of yesteryear, an iconic Catskills hotel, the couch of a Jewish Italian psychoanalyst, and finally arrive at the picturesque American Southwest. Several of the screenings will also include special guests and extra experiences that enrich the films.
The films will be screened at two venues: Jewish Community Center, 5520 Wyoming Boulevard NE and UA High Ridge Theatre, 12921 Indian School NE. Screenings at the JCC will feature guest speakers, live music and delicious food. The UA High Ridge provides optimum viewing of subtitled films from Israel and Italy. Seating is limited. At the door admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open 30 minutes before. Films are $10/advance or $12/door, unless otherwise noted, the five film event package costs $50. For further information or to prepay and ensure you are seated visit jccabq.org or holdmyticket.com; or call Ellen Goldstein at (505) 348-4518.
The ABQ Jewish Film Fest would not be possible without support from sponsors. This year’s sponsors include Film Albuquerque (City of Albuquerque Economic Development Office), Regal Entertainment Group, 100.3 The Peak, as well as individual donors.
